Ashley's Closing Chapter

Colorful trashing of the dress!

This session was a first for me. I've seen so many trash the dress sessions and watched these women say goodbye to a chapter of their lives. This one was a little exciting for me. One of dearest friends asked me to travel down to Savannah to capture these images she had imagined. Of course I said yes and we set a date. Ashley had relocated to Savannah for work and I'm from Savannah, so the weekend was an all around enjoyment.

We took these images on Tybee Island, where we did powder paint and a smoke grenade to make these images pop. Ashley was an absolute trooper with this session. I've watched many women in my life go through divorce and heartache. But this woman, she has been strong. Does she have her bad days? Of course, who wouldn't? But this session was kind of her cleansing from it all.

The burning of the dress took place at my aunt and uncles house. We needed a safe place to do it and my uncle threw in the skull as an added bonus. When I say this was a fun session, I mean it.

When I first posted this session, I had to add a disclaimer warning because sometimes this style is not easily accepted. However, this has been well received and I'm here to tell you, wash it all away or burn it all away or both!
